The “Little Bridges” Preschool

The “Little Bridges” Preschool is for children ages 3 through 4  with language-learning, sensory-motor, or social difficulties.  The program is designed to best prepare children for possible placement in a mainstream classroom and can be an alternative or addition to the pre-primary early intervention programs that may be available through the public schools.  Little Bridges provides a language-enriched program with emphasis on language, social skills, and early academics to best prepare children for placement with their typically-developing peers in the classroom.

We strive to accomplish this by offering:

· Small group setting with an excellent professional/child ratio (8 children max, 1 teacher + aide)

· A homogenous student population with similar language skills and behavioral profiles

· In-class Sensory-Integration consultations from one of our Occupational Therapists

· An integrated approach to treatment in which therapists and parents can share knowledge and insights about each child

· Parent conferences and home activities to maximize carry-over into the home

· Priority scheduling for optional individual Speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Music Therapy

This program is designed to help children best prepare for success in a mainstream setting; however, every child is unique and we cannot guarantee what placement your particular school districts will recommend.

Some basics about the Little Bridges Preschool:

· The program will be in session for approximately 34 weeks from September through early June (following a traditional school year calendar).

· The program will be in session two days each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 9:30 to 12:00 am.

· Children will have a 15-minute snack-time each day.

· Individualize goals will be set for each child.  Parents will receive progress reports and have two parent conferences during the school year.  There will also be a series of regularly-scheduled parent meetings to discuss the program and address any questions.

· The preschool will follow a theme-based program developed to facilitate language, social skills and early academics.
