· Seems to recognize parent’s voice and quiets if crying

 

· Makes pleasure sounds (cooing)

· Cries differently based on needs

 

 

3 – 6

 mos.

 

· Raise to elbows when laying on his/her front

· Rolls

· Sits for 30 seconds by self

 

· Reaches and grasps objects

· Brings hands together

· Transfers toy between hands

 

· Moves eyes in direction of sound

· Responds to change in vocal tones

· Notices noise-making toys

 

· Babbling or producing more speech-like sounds, including simple consonants like p, b, & m

· Vocalizes excitement and displeasure

 

 

 

6 – 12 mos.
