With 28 years of experience, "Dr. Laurie,” has worked with children with a wide variety of needs. In her practice as a licensed clinical psychologist, she draws from her broad professional pediatric psychological experience, her experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner, her experience as a parent with special needs children, and her personal commitment to work not just with children but with the whole family. Understanding the needs of children in all areas of their lives--family, school, community, academic--is critical to being able to provide the best support.
Dr. Laurie is a strong believer that assessments and testing are not just a path to a diagnosis, but are instead a comprehensive search to truly understand all of a child's capabilities and their challenges.
In addition to clinical evaluations and counseling, she consults with many families and school districts to help create the best educational environment for children who have varying levels of challenges that may have roots in learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and psychiatric illness that may be complicated by language disorders and/or sensory processing disorder.
